According to Uganda Revenue Authority, Sulaiman Kabandwa (SK Mbuga) is expected to report to their offices and answer questions related to investigations into a case of tax evasion against him.

The tax body says it’s faulting Mbuga for purchasing a white Ferrari model 2011 which he declared as a 2012 model to escape paying a 35% environmental levy.

Speaking to Matooke Republic yesterday, Ian Rumanyika, the Deputy spokesperson at URA said that they sent summons to Mbuga to defend himself about the tax evasion case before URA a team officials.

‘’ We called him to come and meet the commissioner- Doris Akol today, so that we can compare facts,’’ Rumanyika said.
Rumanyika said that the summons should not cause alarm as they are aimed at ensuring that Mbuga pays the right taxes.

However, during a phone conversation with this website a few moments ago, Mbuga exhibited ignorance about the said summons; ‘’ I have not heard from URA , I am ready to meet General Akol the commissioner in any case because I have always been going there,’’ he said.

Mbuga however said he is extremely ready to meet URA officials if he receives the summons.

Mbuga is said to have purchased the white Ferrari in contention from Dubai and is expected to use it among his bridal cars for his upcoming wedding with fiancé Vivianne Birungi.

This is not the first time Mbuga gets into trouble with URA; he once received a travel ban in 2014, over an outstanding case from a falsely cleared vehicle entry no. c3381.

We are yet to hear from URA on how they intend to further Mbuga’s case.
