The Reggae Fest is coming to our town. Yes, a new promotions company is organising the first ever reggae event of its kind at Legends rugby grounds come March 24.  The Reagge Fest is an annual event that started in Jamaica, but spread and became even bigger in USA. The annual celebration is characterised by a full day of Caribbean music, food, crafts and plenty of irie to go around. The music menu is strictly reggae, dancehall and ragga.

The Reggae Fest Kampala edition is happening next month and the organisers have confirmed Jamaican reggae star Keith Blair, aka Anthony B, as the headliner of the event. Also lined up to perform are leading local reggae artistes Bebe Cool and Maddox. Irene Ntale is the only female artiste that has been lined up for the event.

Although not that popular among general music lovers in Uganda, Anthony B is a darling to reggae fans. The 41-year-old singer who dropped his first CD in 1996, is a member of the Rastafari movement and has released more than 20 CDs, 1,000 plus singles, and appears on hundreds of other albums.
