Swangz Avenue’s Julius Kyazze resigns as Uganda Musicians Association head

Swangz Avenue boss Julius Kyazze has resigned as chairperson of Uganda Musicians Association.

In a letter dated September 18, Kyazze cited ‘personal commitment’ as the reason for his resignation. He revealed that he will leave the position at the end of this month.

“Please accept this letter as a notice of my resignation from my responsibility as the Chairperson of the Uganda Musicians Association. My last date of engagement will be 30th September,” Kyazze wrote. 

“I was both excited and humbled when I got the opportunity to be elected
to serve as the chairperson of an amazing group of people. It has been indeed a great honour for me to serve. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal commitments I can’t fully serve as chairperson.”

“I will facilitate a smooth handover to my predecessor and also remain an active member of the association… Thank you again for the opportunity,” Kyazze’s letter read.

The association was formed catalyse the growth and consumption of Ugandan music among other reasons.
