NTV The Beat co-host Sheilah Gashumba is finally speaking out after her father, Frank Gashumba unleashed the whip. Like a traditional  African father, a disappointed Frank stuck by the ‘spare the rod, spoil the child’ parenting guideline that advocates for inflicting pain to enhance adherence to authority.

For starters, last weekend, Sheilah reportedly spent a night out with her friends only to return home the following day. Her father could not bear her explanation for spending a night away from home without permission. He thus unleashed the whip and reportedly locked her in a room before Sheilah called her mother who came in with police for ‘rescue mission’.

Responding to social media trolls, Sheilah says there is no justification for violence.

“People will justify violence until someone dies and they post ‘Rest in Peace’ !! Y’all need help”, she tweeted.

Her father, Frank Gashumba insists he is only protecting her.
