Known for his nosy character on everything, Pastor Solomon Male has explained how ‘cool’ it can be to be in a polygamous setting. In his explanations, Male repeatedly referred to the bible to back up his arguments.

The renowned outspoken critic of Ugandan churches said there is no single scripture in the bible that explicitly condemns polygyny.

“In Timothy 1 chapter 3, where Apostle Paul talks about leadership he says that if someone wants to be a Bishop, he should be with one wife. However, this does not include everybody,” Pastor Male said.

He further argued using the scripture quoting that, “Jacob married two sisters, Racheal and Leah plus their slaves, Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, David and others were also polygamous, these are in the scriptures we always refer to in the Bible. So, do you think they aren’t in heaven?”

On a personal observation, Male said he supports polygamy firstly because he hates homosexuality. Secondly he revealed that Uganda has many beautiful women who are desperate to get married.

“We have single women who are struggling to get married but they can’t because men are tied to one woman. They come to me to pray for them to get a man,” he said.

Male added, “Men can always make any choices but women have limited choices. Men can venture out anytime, women have limited time. At 80 men can still start a relationship but a woman can’t.”

The pastor also stated that if women had partners, they would not be at the forefront of advancing homosexuality and the feminist movement.
