Singer Jackie Chandiru who was a part of the most successful girl group Blu3 for many years alongside Lillian Mbabazi and Cindy Sanyu has come out and revealed her silence in the music industry.

In September 2019, social media was awash with news that the ‘Gold Digger’ singer had passed on. The news turned out false when Events Promoter, Balaam Barugahara posted a three-minute video of him sitting next to a sick-looking Chandiru.

In the video, Chandiru didn’t speak a word though she tried to force a smile as she rested her ‘paralyzed’ hand on her right thigh.

Following the devastating video, Chandiru was taken to a rehabilitation facility to help her fight her addiction where she says she was forcefully taken before she escaped days later.

After that failed rehabilitation, Chandiru says someone that loved her for who she is, took her to Nairobi where she eventually started on her healing journey from the addiction.

However, the singer has today appeared in an interview on a local TV station and disclosed that she has been out of the country for treatment.

“I have been off to help me heal better. I had a problem and I travelled out of the country so that I can heal better,” Chandiru revealed.

The singer who seems to be better now further explained how she got addicted to drugs saying: “My addiction started with a back problem. I was given an option between a drug and surgery. The surgery was 50/50, so I chose the drug. I was warned about its addictive nature but I decided to use it,” she explained.

Despite recording a few new songs, Chandiru has been off the music scene.
