Pastor Stephen Mutesasira, the lead preacher at Anointed Upper Room Church located in Kamwokya and ex-husband of singer Julie Mutesasira, has disclosed that he’s receiving multiple phone calls following Julie’s confessions.
Now living in Canada, Julie opened up about her LGBT lifestyle last week. She said that she left Uganda because being a gay woman who was formerly married to a pastor was “an abomination” in the country.
“When I get these phone calls, I just tell them, ‘I don’t know what to do’,” said Stephen Mutesasira.
He, however, stated that God will calm the situation and that all will be well soon.
Julie and Pastor Steven Mutesasira were married for 14 years, having met in 1996. It is not clear whether Julie’s sexual orientation, as a gay woman, was at the heart of their separation.
