Singer Lilian Mbabazi, a member of the original renowned girls’ group Blu3, has clarified that the Blu3 Reunion is not an effort to permanently reunite the group. Instead, it serves as a platform for collaboration on various projects.

Mbabazi, along with Jackie Chandiru and Cindy Sanyu, organized a successful event at Skyz Hotel Naguru called The Blu*3 Reunion in December last year.

Although the event was a triumph, questions arose regarding the permanence of the reunion. Speaking on the latest Tusker Malt Conversession episode, Lilian explained that their reunion primarily focuses on joint performances and collaborations.

“Our careers are progressing well, and we’re fully focused. We are only performing and collaborating,” she stated.

Addressing why she agreed to be part of the reunion, Lilian mentioned, “I only accepted after confirming that Jackie was fully fine. You know she has gone through a lot during the past years.”

Regarding the inclusion of Mya, another member of Blu*3 who joined after Cindy left, Lilian revealed that none of them (Jackie, Lilian, and Cindy) has been able to get in touch with her.

“But we shall see what to do as we have a concert scheduled for March this year,” she said.

Blu*3, managed by Steve Jean, started in 2004 and quickly gained popularity in Uganda and East Africa. They produced hit songs like “Nsanyuka nawe,” “Hitaji,” “Frisky,” “Tomalaako,” and “Mutima Gwange.”

These songs not only achieved massive popularity but also left a lasting impression on Ugandan music fans, who still cherish the memories associated with these timeless tracks.
