Singer Beenie Gunter, whose real name is Crescent Baguma, is currently in detention in Abu Dhabi after his arrest in Dubai on Sunday.

According to reports, the artist, who had travelled with his baby mama Nickie Berry, was arrested at the Dubai Airport but was subsequently transferred back to Abu Dhabi.

Sources indicate that the “Abayaye Tubasobola” singer had been booked for performances in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with one show scheduled in Dubai and another in Abu Dhabi.

However, an incident unfolded in Abu Dhabi when Beenie Gunter got into a scuffle with event promoters.

The altercation attracted the attention of local authorities, especially as the property at the bar where the incident occurred was reportedly vandalized. The bar owner is now seeking compensation for the damages resulting from the scuffle.

As a consequence, the singer was apprehended at a Dubai airport, while his baby mama was allowed to return to Uganda.

The situation has stirred concern among his supporters, with many expressing their solidarity and calling for a resolution to the matter.
