Singer Beenie Gunter, whose real name is Crescent Baguma, is currently facing travel restrictions preventing him from returning to Uganda until his case in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is resolved.

Following his arrest in mid-January this year while on his way back to Uganda, Beenie Gunter was released from a detention center in Abu Dhabi but was barred from leaving the UAE.

Beenie Gunter is facing charges for his alleged involvement in a scuffle with event promoters. The altercation attracted the attention of local authorities, especially as the property at the bar where the incident occurred was reportedly vandalized. The bar owner is seeking compensation for the damages resulting from the scuffle.

Though Beenie Gunter is no longer in custody, recent updates from Abu Dhabi indicate the singer will be stuck in the UAE for an extended period of about two years until his case is completely resolved.

Close sources reveal that investigations are still ongoing, but the duration of his stay in Abu Dhabi remains uncertain, which has implications for his regular business activities and music career.

Nonetheless, the source explains that it is also possible for the ban to be lifted upon receiving a written order from the authority that issued the ban.
