Singer Eddy Kenzo has opened up about his closeness with Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, the new State Minister for Minerals in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development, saying she’s just a very good friend.

For a while now, there has been speculation that the two are in a romantic relationship. They always comment on each other’s social media posts, with the latest being when Kenzo quickly congratulated Nyamutoro after she was appointed a minister. She responded by saying, “Thank You Mr. President.”

A few days later, a photo of the two attending a visitation day together made the rounds on social media. Kenzo’s daughter, Maya Musuuza, was also in the photo.

When asked about his relationship with Nyamutoro during an interview on local TV last evening, Kenzo smilingly said, “She is my very good friend. I have known her for a long time.”

Last year, Nyamutoro, a national female youth MP and one of the youngest ministers, was also asked about her relationship with the singer, and she also claimed that they are just friends and have known each other for a long time.

“I can’t confirm that Eddy Kenzo is my boyfriend, but I know him. I’ve known him for a very long time, even before I became a member of parliament,” she said.

Anyway, since they say time is a good friend to everyone, let’s wait and see.
