Pastor Joseph Sserwadda, the lead pastor of Victory Christian Centre, has announced an ambitious plan to build a world-class stadium exclusively for Uganda’s born-again Christian community.

Dubbed the ‘Balokole Stadium,’ the state-of-the-art facility is projected to cost a staggering $388 million (Shs 1.26 trillion) and will require at least 100 acres of land.

Initially, the cost estimate for the project was significantly lower, but after consulting a team of experts, the pastor and his team realized the true scale of the endeavor.

“We engaged professionals, held discussions, and they advised that the project would require $388 million to be fully realized,” Pastor Sserwadda stated.

The stadium is envisioned as more than just a sports facility; it will be a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting major national events, including government functions.

It will also cater to individuals and teams preparing for large-scale gatherings in the weeks leading up to events. The planned features include a luxurious five-star hotel accommodating up to 200 high-profile guests, a conference center with a seating capacity of 10,000, picturesque wedding gardens, and extensive parking space.

Pastor Sserwadda’s inspiration for the project stemmed from a difficult experience last year. After booking Namboole Stadium for his annual Passover prayer event on December 31st, he was abruptly informed—just days before the event—that the venue was no longer available.

In a last-minute effort, he managed to secure a venue near Kabaka’s Lake in Ndeeba, where the crossover prayers were eventually held.

Determined to prevent such disruptions in the future, Pastor Sserwadda is now rallying support to bring the Balokole Stadium vision to life, ensuring that Uganda’s born-again Christian community has a dedicated venue for worship, celebrations, and large-scale gatherings.
