Hajat Kuluthum Muzaata Nabunya, widow of the late Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata, has officially announced her separation from her husband, Acram Gumisiriza, marking the end of their two-year marriage.

The announcement was made through a heartfelt statement shared on her official Facebook page, in which she addressed religious, cultural, and political leaders, as well as friends, family, and well-wishers.

“This is one of the hardest letters I’ve ever had to write,” she began. “But I believe it’s time to speak from the heart and let go of what I’ve been holding in for a long while.”

Kuluthum opened up about her emotional journey, recalling how she met Acram in 2021 and married him a year later, following the passing of her husband Sheikh Muzaata. At the time, she was searching for comfort and companionship during one of the most painful periods of her life.

However, despite the initial hope, cracks in the relationship began to appear early on.

“I started seeing red flags early in the relationship,” she revealed. “Despite trying to work through our differences, the emotional gap between us only grew wider with time.”

Kuluthum noted that while there was once genuine love and connection between them, that bond gradually faded. She admitted to feeling unseen, unheard, and unsupported—and acknowledged that her partner might have felt the same.

She thanked those who had supported her and asked for understanding as she begins a new chapter in her life.
