Renowned controversial Masaka-based businessman Emmanuel Lwasa has put his club, Tavern Kick in Masaka, and the land where it sits, up for sale to enable him to repay his loan with Equity Bank.
Lwasa, who obtained a loan from Equity Bank intending to boost his various business ventures but failed to repay the money within the agreed period, said he has managed to pay around Shs500 million and has a balance of over Shs600 million.
Tavern Kick Club, which was opened in 2015, is one of the most popular nightspots in Masaka.

Speaking during a YouTube interview, Lwasa said that although the building is still seized by the bank, he asked them to allow him to sell it so that he can repay the loan and use the balance to boost his business ventures.
“I am selling the property. Anyone with Shs2 billion should contact me,” he said.
When asked about President Yoweri Museveni’s pledge to help him clear the loan, Lwasa said, “I gave up on that, as the handlers I was given don’t pick my calls, and some of them were given new positions away from State House.”
