Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has announced that he will no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18—the same day he shares with his twin brother, Paul Okoye alias Rudeboy.
In a statement posted online, Mr P said he has chosen to move his personal celebrations to November 30, stressing that it is a private decision. He also made it clear that he will not be acknowledging messages or gifts sent on the original date.
Peter and Paul first shot to fame as the duo P-Square, dominating African music charts throughout the 2000s and early 2010s. But behind the success, the brothers have had a long history of disagreements.
Their most notable fallout began around 2015, largely linked to management issues involving their elder brother, Jude Okoye, as well as disputes over money and creative control.
The tension eventually led to their split in 2017, with each brother launching a solo career—Peter as Mr P and Paul as Rudeboy.
Although they reunited in 2021 and briefly worked together again, cracks reportedly remained.
Disagreements over finances and control of their music catalogue later resurfaced, sparking fresh public fallout and even legal battles within the family.
Mr P’s decision to change his birthday celebration date is now being seen by fans as the latest sign of the ongoing rift between the once inseparable twins.
