Want a glowing skin? Here the foods that should be on your menu this Christmas

For some people, when the word Christmas is mentioned, only one thing comes to mind – food. But few of those know how much and of what should they be eating to remain healthy. 

Nutrition is good for a healthy skin.  The saying “you are what you eat” is 100% true.  What you eat significantly affects your health and skin. Here are foods that should be on your menu this Christmas for health purposes.

Pumpkins
Pumpkins are rich in vitamin A&C, minerals and zinc which are essential in the formation of new skin cells.  They control oil production, improve skin tone and moderate the appearance of open pores. All you have to do is eat a handful of pumpkin seeds to achieve the glow and brighten your skin complexion.

Potatoes
Potatoes contain a variety of plant nutrients that have antioxidants.  Potatoes work as natural bleaching agent and help get rid of dead skin cells, dark spots, dark circles.  Besides eating potatoes, apply thin slices of potatoes on your face.

Lemons
Lemons are a rich nutritious combination of vitamin C, Vitamin B and phosphorous. This is a miraculous fruit when it comes to making one’s skin radiant. Lemons clean pores without getting rid of the skin’s natural oil. It contains natural acids that remove dead skin cells. Apply the lemon juice on the affected area to achieve perfect results.

Oranges.
Oranges are rich in vitamin C. The orange peelings can also be used to rejuvenate your skin. They contain anti-bacterial properties which will keep your skin glowing once squeezed on the affected areas.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and minerals. Tomatoes contain an antioxidant called lycopene which has anti ageing elements. In order to activate the benefits of lycopene apply the juice of the tomatoes on your skin. Tomatoes are acidic in nature and can act as a natural sunscreen. The pulps of tomatoes prevent pimples and tighten the pores.

Beetroot
Beetroot is a detox fully packed with vitamins and minerals that radiates skins. It also prevents a break-out of pimples and acne on one’s face. Drinking beetroot purifies one’s blood and cleanses the toxins.

Carrots
Carrots contain beta-carotene which prevents the de-generation of cells, rejuvenates the skin. Carrots not only gift one with good eyesight but also keep one’s skin glowing.  Carrots also reduce acne and pimple outburst.

Avocado
Avocados are a good source of Vitamin E and C which is a vital antioxidant that keeps the skin healthy and moisturized. Avocado, if applied typically hydrates the skin and keeps it soft.

Red wine
Red wine contains a compound called resveratrol which helps reduce the effects of ageing. It also slows the production of harm-free radicals which damage skin cells. But remember excess consumption of any alcoholic beverage is harmful to your health.

Fish
Seafood is important when it comes to maintaining skin health. Fish is a source of vitamin E and A which is one of the important antioxidants for your skin. It also has zinc which helps in the production of new skin cells and generally a healthy skin.
