Since the outbreak of Coronavirus in different parts of the world, Uganda’s Ministry of Health has been on a high alert monitoring and putting different measures to prevent the dangerous virus from invading Uganda.

Over the weekend on Sunday, 22 foreign nationals arrived at Entebbe International Airport ahead of the UG-EU Business Forum that has started today, and just as the current routine at the airport, they had to undergo Coronavirus screening. The delegation is reported to have turned down the procedure.

“We informed them about our procedure of self-quarantine for 14 days. However, they were not willing to undergo this self-quarantine. Today, they will return to their home countries,” said Health Minister Dr Ruth Aceng.

Aceng added that though the 22 passengers did not have any signs and symptoms of the virus, they had to obey by the set procedures.

“I want to reiterate that Uganda has NO confirmed or suspected case of Coronavirus,” she said as she appreciated the health workers for working tireless to ensure that Uganda is safe from the virus.
