11 COVID-19 Patients discharged from Lira, Arua and Masaka Hospitals

Though Uganda’s cases of COVID-19 have continued to rise daily for the past three weeks, the efforts of getting the patients to recover gives the country hope in the fight against the pandemic.

Yesterday, three upcountry hospitals discharged a total of 11 COVID-19 patients after they fully recovered from the virus. The patients are said to have tested negative twice after undergoing treatment.

Lira Hospital discharged its first COVID-19 Patient a week after two of its medical officers contracted the virus. Masaka Hospital discharged the highest number of people of the day, seven, while Arua Hospital discharged three people.

Uganda now has a total of 93 recoveries with no death yet to be registered. The Health Ministry says all the active 500 cases are in stable condition as they are responding well to treatment.

Yesterday, the Ministry reported 36 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 593.
