1200 bed capacity COVID-19 treatment facility at Namboole Stadium to be opened

As Uganda is experience a surge in COVID-19 infections, the ministry of health is set to officially open the new COVID-19 treatment facility at Namboole Stadium next week.

The Director of Clinical Services in the Ministry of Health Dr Charles Olaro says 1200 bed capacity facility preparations have been finalized and ready to take on the task of handling COVID-19 patients.

Dr Olaro says the health ministry is strengthening and renewing efforts to curb increasing trends of COVID-19 in Kampala.

Yesterday on Monday, it’s alleged that President Yoweri Museveni held a crisis meeting with the National Taskforce where the discussed possible re-imposing of some restrictions. Museveni is expected to address the country about COVID-19 this week.

Currently Uganda has 2,362 total cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 after 99 new cases where reported yesterday on Monday. Two (2) COVID-19 deaths were recorded bringing the total COVID-19 deaths to 22.
