COVID-19: Uganda registers over 1000 recoveries in a single day, new infections drop to 200

Uganda is slowly making positive strides in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. A month ago, the country was reporting at least 1000 new infections per day.

In the past weeks, the positivity rate has been averaging at 10% and the recoveries are now consistently exceeding new cases in a single day.

The ministry of health has today reported 265 new cases taking the cumulative confirmed cases to 90,656.

Furthermore the ministry reported 1,127 new recoveries. This takes the total recoveries to 68,241. Nonetheless, the new deaths are something to worry about as 39 new people succumbed to the virus taking the total deaths to 2,392.
