Here’s why Mulago Hospital ED was arrested

Social media was awash with reports of the arrest of Mulago Hospital’s Executive Director Dr. Baterena Byarugaba last evening.

With many wondering why Baterena was arrested, Matooke Republic has learnt that the Mulago Boss was arrested for failing to honour summons for questioning.

According to New Vision, the Head of the State House Health Monitoring Unit Dr Warre Naamara confirmed the arrest citing that they were forced to pick up Baterena after he failed to honour the summons.

“We have been investigating Mulago on issues of management, machinery, human resources, financial and all these things you,’’ stated Naamara.

He added, “In the course of our work, we discovered a number of things where we needed a lot of information in order for us to complete our investigations. So the ED as the accounting officer of the institution, we needed him to answer a few question and we may keep him longer since the issues where we need his answers are still many”.

Namaara also revealed how the investigation is about management, administration, finances and Human resource.
