After enduring a rapid increase in her breasts, a 14-year-old girl from Luuka district underwent a successful breast reduction surgery at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital.

The girl had been suffering from severe backaches and pain in the neck for the past two years. Her breasts weighed 9 kilograms. Such a medical condition is called gigantomastia.

Gigantomastia is a rare condition characterized by excessive breast growth. It may occur spontaneously, during puberty or pregnancy, or while taking certain medications.
