Uganda got to experience its own taste of international flex last week when a one Raymond Kahuma was the architect behind a Guinness World Record clinching mega Rolex.

The Rolex is a popular street cuisine in Uganda that consists of eggs and an assortment of vegetables wrapped up in a flat fried dough globally known as chapatti.

Despite Kahuma basking in cross-continental glory, the journey has not been as smooth sailing as many would assume it to have been.

While appearing on NBS entertainment show, After 5, Kahuma intimated to have given the process a shot in 2020, December. He however disclosed that it was more of a gamble, with him and his team purchasing over 150kg of flour and lots of vegetables.

Due to lack of preparation, he reveals that the Rolex ended up burning. Kahuma also notes having lost a lot of money as the equipment that was utilized in the process had to be built from scratch.

Despite the shortcomings, he was gassed to bounce back for part two after getting rave reviews from the video he uploaded of his initial Rolex gone bad. He revealed that he spent $7,000 (about Shs24 million) on the second attempt.

Like the adage goes, winners never quit, and in the very first month of 2021, Raymond Kahuma is flying high, reserving enormous bragging rights as the International Guinness World Record holder for Uganda’s largest Rolex.

Way to go Raymond.
