UBL through its V&A Sherry brand is a major sponsor of the Miss Uganda pageant. Hillary Baguma the Brand Manager, Mainstream Spirits at UBL reaffirmed commitment to V&A’s  partnership with the Miss Uganda Foundation because of the shared vision of empowerment and inclusivity.

Baguma commended her for choosing to use her reign to empower single mothers, especially survivors of domestic violence. “This is not just noble; it is powerful.”

“We believe in more than what is poured into the glass; we believe in what is poured into people’s lives, in impact, and in uplifting communities, and we shall continue to support the Miss Uganda pageant as it is a platform that celebrates beauty with a purpose.

Brenda Nanyonjo the CEO Miss Uganda Foundation extended the organisation’s appreciation for V&A’s support.

“This is the second year V&A has partnered with us for the pageant and we are truly grateful. We look forward to working together with you for the next pageant which is quite a milestone for us as we will be making 15 years. We promise to do more for and with the brand. We promise to share the flair of V&A as Uganda’s favourite sherry,” she said.

On her part,  Muhoza, remarked; “I want to thank UBL for empowering young people like me through the work they do. I am happy to have the goodwill of partners like V&A  andI hope my year as queen is one of purpose and unforgettable impact.”

She was handed a Shs5m cheque as V&A’s seed funding for her purpose projects.
