The most trending person on social media in Matooke Republic this week has been Toro King, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru. An image of the youthful king greeting Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga while seated cross-legged at Kabaka Ronald Mutebi’s 60th birthday celebrations circulated on social media, leading to a viral recreation of the pose in what was termed as the Oyo Challenge.
King Oyo who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Thursday evening didn’t have party as grand as the one of his Buganda counterpart, but he had a black forest cake that he cut in company of close friends and family, and also popped some champagne.
But the highlight of the party was Oyo playing along with the viral humour and also taking the Oyo Challenge. He greeted a friend while looking away, but this time he didn’t cross his leg. Check out the humorous photo.
