Gov’t engineer begs not to be retired, claims he has nowhere to get school fees for his four children

Mbale District Mechanical Engineer Deogratoas Akorimo has given his reasons why the district should not let him go into retirement.

Despite admitting to having clocked the mandatory retirement age of 60, Akorimo claims he has financial problems to attend to.

In his letter to the district Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Akorimo requested to be allowed to work for another two years on a contract basis.

Among the reasons he gave include; still having to pay school fees for his four biological children.

The engineer, who has worked for Mbale Local Government since 2004, also implies it won’t be easy to get someone of his skills to steer the same docket forward after his exit.
