Last night, an altercation erupted on live TV after government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo threatened to push out Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago from the talk show.
The moment forced the NBS Frontline producer to cut the show.
Social media, to be specific. Twitter is now swarmed with post-incident memes and netizens are debating whether Opondo should be suspended from his position.
The altercation between the two happened after FDC’s Lukwago accused Ofwono’s NRM party of not having won the Soroti East MP by-election fairly.
“Shut up. Shut up. This man likes shouting. You can shout and we push you out of here,” Ofwono said while pointing at Lukwago who was interjecting his argument.
“I can push you out of here Lukwago,” Ofwono charged.
“Yes I know you have the powers … You have ever shot somebody dead,” Lukwago said as Ofwono got off his seat and attacked him. The producers cut the show.
Many took to Twitter, relentlessly joking about the incident.
