The reigning Ugandan female kickboxing champion, Patricia Apolot, has disclosed that she tried out several vocational endeavors, including football, before ending up in kickboxing.

According to Apolot, she did not fancy joining kickboxing.

“The initial reason why I went to the gym before I joined kickboxing was that I wanted to get revenge on my ex-boyfriend,” said Patricia Apolot while appearing on NBS Sport.

However, while at the gym, she met Golola Moses, who convinced and inspired him to become a kickboxer.

“I met him (Golola) in 2011, two weeks after joining the gym, and I am forever grateful,” she said.

The 31-year-old became a professional kickboxer in 2014. She has different honors to her name, and these include gold medalist at the Mt. Gorilla Taekwondo Open and 2013 East Africa Inter-Club Boxing Championships; 2014 National Kickboxing Champion (Female Lightweight Division), and World Kickboxing Federation International Titleholder (Female Lightweight Division).
