Kiira region police are holding three suspects accused of chopping off the right palm of 15-year-old Shafic Sizomu, during a fight for pilau.

The suspects in custody at Jinja Central Police Station are Yasin Eguma, Ziyadi Akidi, and Norman Kabale.

It is said that the unfortunate incident happened as a result of a misunderstanding during the process of serving food (pilau) to the guests.

Sizomu is reported to have grabbed the saucepan that contained the pilau and moved it away.

It’s upon that background that a brawl broke out, triggering one of the suspects to pull out a panga, and chopped out Sizomu’s palm.

He was rushed to a hospital in Jinja City where he is currently receiving treatment.

Kiira regional police spokesperson, James Mubi said that the suspects face two charges of attempted murder and causing grievous body harm to the victim.
