In protest the 18th February presidential election results, where Eng. Dr. Badru Kiggundu declared president Musevini as winner, the party spokesperson Mr. Ssemujju Nganda launched a “Free My Vote campaign” last week.

One of the features of the campaign is a call to citizens all over the country to pray for the nation and to pray against the continued house arrest of the party’s former president (who was also party flag bearer in last month’s presidential election), Dr. Kizza Besigye.

During the prayer session this morning, Rev. David Ngabon who was the main celebrant said:
“I don’t care what the church will say but I know that facts are bitter. I saw people die in cold blood and I can’t sit on the truth. If they want to take me to prison, am ready”.
FDC party President Maj. Gen Mugisha Muntu, Ingrid Turinawe, Mubarak Munyagwa other party officials and members, as well as well-wishers all attended the prayers.
