Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye has accused the police of fixing an odd device in his car and vowed to get experts to have a look and tell him what the device is, as well as what it is intended to do.

Police over the weekend returned Dr. Besigye’s Land Cruiser vehicle to his home in Kasangati, having held it at its Wandegeya station since February 15 when they towed it away during protests by Besigye’s supporters –who were contesting the stopping of their candidate from proceeding to the city centre on his way to a rally.

However, yesterday Dr. Besigye said that upon inspection of the vehicle, he found “an ominous device” attached to the car’s power section.
The runner-up in the just-concluded presidential election saqid that since he is not a car expert, he won’t guess what the intended purpose of the device is, but is going to seek expert analysis.
Besigye also said he won’t bother with lodging a complaint against the police because nothing ever comes of such complaints given the state of governance and institutions in the country.
