Newly promoted first son Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has this morning been decorated with his new pips. Gen. Muhoozi’s decoration ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Mbuya.
Muhoozi was decorated with the Major General pips by the UPDF Commander Gen. Katumba Wamala and his wife Charlotte Muhoozi.
Maj. Gen. Muhoozi was promoted to the rank of Major General by his father and commander in chief- President Yoweri Museveni a few days ago.
Muhoozi, who is currently two ranks below President Museveni- a four star General, joined the UPDF top brass and is now among the top 29 UPDF generals.
Muhoozi’s promotion put him at the same rank with many of his father’s 1986 bush war colleagues while several long serving army officers, some of whom played major roles in the war that brought Mr Museveni into power, now have to salute Muhoozi.
