Benon Matsiko the police patrol driver who was recently arrested for knocking a Besigye supporter has denied committing the crime.

Matsiko was arrested because it was alleged that he was behind the wheel when a Police Patrol car knocked a pedestrian who was in a Besigye procession, as it was depicted in an NTV video that went viral.

The newly appointed Police spokesperson Felix Kaweesi revealed that Mastsiko refused to admit that he was driving the said vehicle that day.

“We have satisfying evidence that it was his vehicle seen in the footage knocking a civilian, but he has denied driving the car on that day,” said Kaweesi.
