Hillside Naalya crowned the National ‘Spelling Bee’ champions

Hillside Nursery and Primary School Naalya will represent Uganda at the African Spelling bee competitions in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in July 2017. This comes after Hillside was announced champions of yesterday’s Kampala regional spelling bee finals that were staged at Serena Hotel.

A spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.



A total of four schools from Kampala region made it to the finals, including Daffodils Primary School, Victorious Primary School, City Parents School and champions Hillside Primary School-Naalya.

Aaron Kirunda, CEO of Enjuba (organizers of the competitions) stated, ‘’The National Spelling Bee competitions are  set out to bring a difference in the education sector by enhancing literacy and comprehension among children and the project has enlisted so much interest throughout the country.”
