Growing from strength to strength,Kira road based Nile Broadcasting Service  could establish a telecasting branch in Kigali following reports that a deal in the land of a thousand hills is in the offing.
The NBS TV CEO Kin Kariisa spent most of the last week in Rwanda’s capital Kigali further fueling the speculations. NBS television shared on their Facebook page photos the CEO in company of renowned journalist Andrew Mwenda conversing with the president of Rwanda Paul Kagame. The power trio were sharing light moments together and visibly excited by the discussion.

It is possible that Kariisa could have penned a deal for a broadcasting license to establish a media house branch in Kigali.

If a deal is struck, the station is believed to attract a sizeable audience and  could be headed by Mwenda.
Furthermore, NBS TV has been running series titled “Focus on Rwanda” as a segment in the popular NBS AT 9 news bulletin offering in depth coverage of the country’s politics, economy, culture, infrastructural development and governance issues.

The Kamwokya based media Plaza was inherited by Kariisa group from the former Jinja MP Nathan Igeme Nabeta who founded  in the early 2000s after the former bought a controlling stake before the station before fully falling into his hands. NBS is one of the most popular TV stations in Uganda.
