ICC receives Kasese clashes petition from Rwenzururu leaders

Kasese leaders are beaming with optimism after the International criminal court confirmed receipt of petition against the government.



Leader of opposition in parliament Hon. Winnie Kiiza confirmed that the International criminal court has received the petition. In a Facebook post, she posted a letter confirming receipt of the petition.

The leaders are hopeful that the court will prosecute the government for the raid on Omusinga Mumbere’s palace which resulted in his capture and consequent imprisonment where he is facing murder and treason charges.

The November 26th bloodbath resulted in the death of over 60 royal guards days after they allegedly killed over 14 policemen.

The Rwenzururu king is remanded in Luzira prison with over 140 royal guards.
