East African  Legislative Assembly seats is not meant to give jobs to the unemployed — M7 warns ahead of NRM elections

The East Africa Legislative Assembly, that is the parliament for East African Community is right now the talk in political circles. Reason? Elections. Yes, Ugandans willing to represent their parties at the regional parliament are picking forms,campaigning and some.

NRM Parliamentary Caucus has today met at the State House, Entebbe ahead of EALA elections. Before the voting, Museveni addressed the Caucus, briefing them on what will be expected from the members who will make it to the EALA.



“Elections to the East African Parliament are not meant to give jobs to unemployed people. These elections are a serious matter. It is about electing people who know what is involved in integration” said Museveni.

He asked the candidates that will merge successful to concentrate on regional  development.

Amongst the vetted 43 NRM candidates, the party has only 6 places in the EALA. Party Electoral committee president Tanga Odoi will probably today evening or tomorrow announce the results.
