Although our O-level students failed English miserably, there’s still hope for Uganda especially because it has again emerged the best English speaking country in Africa.

This comes after a study conducted by World Linguistic Agency named Uganda top notch when it comes to the Queens language followed by Zambia, South Africa and Kenya.

According to the study, this doesn’t mean that English, Uganda’s official language, is flawless. It means that when it comes to transliteration, accent and phonological interference or what one would call (mother tongue interference), the Pearl of Africa has less trouble.

The leading countries include:

  1. Uganda
  2. Zambia
  3. South Africa
  4. Kenya
  5. Zimbabwe
  6. Malawi
  7. Ghana
  8. Botswana
  9. Sudan
