While addressing Ugandans gathered at  the national women’s day celebrations in Dokolo district, president Museveni has stated that the government is committed to uplifting the standards of women in the country.

“The NRM government stays committed to empowering and uplifting Ugandan women, who are the bedrock of the nation. It is part of our deliberate strategy that seeks to fight sectarianism in whatever form while supporting the marginalized. We have made strides in improving the station of women and will continue to do so,” he stated.

The Celebrations are under the theme “Women empowerment in the changing world of work”. Ugandan women have generally fairly been uplifted under the NRM government with many holding key administrative and political positions.
