Controversial Makerere University lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi is expected today to appear in court over offensive communication and cyber harassment. Dr. Stella Nyanzi was arrested last week on her way back from Rotary Fellowship Mackinon Suites in Nakasero, Kampala where she had hosted a fundraising drive to raise money for sanitary pads for school girls. She has since been detained at Kira Police Station.
The outspoken academician recently Nyanzi criticised First lady who is also a minister for Education and Sports Janet Museveni for the government’s failed pledge to supply free sanitary pads to schoolgirls.
Nyanzi had earlier been interrogated at Kibuli police CID department on same matters of offensive communication and cyber harassment but was later released on bond.
