The Kampala High Court yesterday ordered the king of Buganda Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II to produce all documentations;the number of people on kingdom land and bank statements in both Stanbic Bank and Bank of Africa showing all the money the Buganda Land Board collects from people living on the ‘Kabaka’s’ land.

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi 11 was dragged to the High court -Civil division this year in April by Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka over unlawfully collecting ground rent (Busuulu) from all occupants of kingdom land on grounds that he is the Landlord though he is just a trust of the said land.

In the same application, Mabirizi challenged Kabaka’s newly initiated system of “Ekyapa mu ngalo” where he requested for an Injunction against the implementation of the system saying it will make him and the entire Buganda people face a severe damage and loss since they are required to pay a certain amount of fee to obtain the 49-years release.
