No sale and production of sachet waragi from September — Gov’t

Lovers of the bitter that comes cheap, brace yourselves for the times are changing. The government has directed that there will be on sale or production of sachet waragi effective 30th September, 2017.

That means, you still have a grace period of three months to take your last sips before it becomes illegal.

In December 2016, government resolved to ban the sale and distribution of all alcohol in sachets. In the letter above issued to all Chief Administrative officers, the Ministry reminds all officials to embark on implementation as the deadline.
