The UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire has denied reports alleging that UPDF officers have been deployed to help their counterparts Kenya calm down the aftermath violence of the elections.

“The UPDF wishes to totally denounce these allegations which are totally false, alarmist and misleading. There are absolutely no such preparations and no team of officers has been sent out to Kenya in preparation for such”, he stated.

“The Republic of Kenya is a sovereign country and as such, its security and that of its people are exclusively within their domain,” he added.

According to Karemire, UPDF will use legal means to bring to book those responsible for reckless reporting.

‘‘The UPDF takes strong exception to this reckless reporting and will consider taking appropriate legal measures to stop this wayward and irresponsible reporting. Our readers should therefore ignore in entirety the contents in this article that is not written in good faith.’’ he said.
