KCCA Festival Aftermath: Over 50 children reported missing, 180 youths arrested — Police

As the sixth edition of three day fun filled KCCA festival climaxed yesterday, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has credited the good work done by all security agencies. However, just like any other public function petty crimes are inevitable. According to Kayima, Police is in custody of 180 youths and over 50 cases of missing children have been registered at CPS.

“Many young people engaged in different criminal activities and were arrested. We have over 180 suspects in various police stations around the city who were engaging in different types of crimes,”Kayima stated.

These engaged in criminal activities like; pick pocketing, thefts and assault among others. Another challenging factor during the celebrations was missing of children from their relatives and in this the police spokesperson confirmed that over fifty children were reported missing and some are being held at Kampala Central Police Station.
