Shs100m up for grabs for best Kadongo Kamu song highlighting Operation Wealth Creation

Despite the heavy down pour yesterday at the flag off ceremony of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Kadongo Kamu competition at Kapeeka grounds in Nakaseke district, the massive crowd persevered.

Over 20 Kadongo Kamu artistes thrilled the residents with individual songs as per the rules of the competitions that calls for a piece which encourages Ugandans to embrace and engage in productive agriculture and animal production.

The competition that will run until December this year is open to all kinds of musicians whether big stars or upcoming. Veteran Kadongo Kamu stars are also in the race. Mathias Walukaga, Fred Ssebata, Mamuli Katumba, Dan Mugura, Willy Mukabya, Fred Ssebale among others are in the race for the big prize.

Gen Salim Saleh, OWC Chief Coordinator was the guest of honor at the launch of the Kadongo Kamu competition and handed over Shs100m prize money for the winner of the competition to the president of the artistes fraternity Andrew Benon Kibuuka.

“I thank you Kadongo Kamu for participating in this completion and spreading the ‘gospel’ of wealth creation through music,” stated -Gen Saleh when addressing the crowd.

“I approached the president to tell him that I had discovered people who could spread the gospel effectively.  It happened you were chosen and you have not disappointed me.”He added

Diversification efforts were reinforced by strong momentum in insurance, with gross written premiums rising 75% and profit before tax increasing 36%. The Group also delivered significant social impact, investing approximately Kshs. 99.5 billion in sustainability initiatives, underscoring its continued evolution into a diversified, technology-driven pan-African financial services group.
