Red Pepper directors and editors charged with “disturbing Museveni’s peace”

Seven Red Pepper Publications directors and editors have this afternoon appeared before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court and were charged with “disturbing President Museveni’s peace.”

According to court, the published story which was ran by Red Pepper titled: “Museveni plans to overthrow Kagame”, was not true. In this it disturbed the peace of the president and the generals; Gen.Salim Saleh and  Lt.Gen Henry Tumukunde who were also mentioned to be behind a plot to overthrow Rwanda president.

However, all the accused have denied the charges and by press time they had started the process of applying for bail.
