Gulu DPC Joseph Ayiki reportedly shot by unknown person late night, admitted in hospital

Joseph Ayiki, the Gulu District Police Commander has allegedly been shot by unknown person this morning.

It is said that Ayiki was shot at around 2am behind Through Arts Keep Smilling (TAKS) located in Gulu. The place functions as a community centre and art gallery for local artists.

Currently, he is in admitted at Gulu regional referral hospital, though plans are underway to transfer him to St Mary’s Lacor hospital for further management.

No details of the shooting are known but it is alleged that he was shot by the TAKS security guard in his knee over unknown reasons.

Police is yet to release a statement.
