The bishop of Masaka John Baptist Kagwa has blasted the legislators who voted ‘Yes’ to age limit amendment. He stated that they have betrayed the people and cast a dark future for the country.
“There is no difference between you (“Yes” MPs) and Judas Iscariot. Just like he betrayed Jesus who selected him as a disciple, you have betrayed all the people who voted you to represent their views”, John Baptist stated.
He stated that while the MPs may celebrate “their victory”, the won’t heal the hearts of those they broke.
“You can easily amend the constitution but it is going to take ages to amend the hearts of all Ugandans you have broken”, he stated.
