Case closed: Criminal charges against Red Pepper directors and editors dropped

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has this morning discontinued proceedings against directors and editors of the Red Pepper Publications Ltd. The accused have been discharged by Buganda Road Court and the file closed.

Late last year, Counter Terrorism police sealed off the publication premises and arrested their directors and editors. They were charged with seven counts including; publication of information prejudicial to security, libel and offensive communication, among others.
