Bobi Wine detained at military barracks, list of people held over Arua chaos released

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and three other legislators; Francis Zaake (Mityana Municipality), Paul Mwiru (Jinja Municipality), Gerald Karuhanga (Ntungamo Municiplaity), as well as Kasiano Wadri, the Arua Municipality by-election contestant are being held.

According to reports, Robert Kyagulanyi is being held at a military barracks. There were reports that he was at Bondo Military Barracks, Arua. However, reports from his camp claim that he was airlifted to Kampala then transferred to Bombo Military Barracks.

According to police, the legislators and 30 others are being held abusing traffic regulations and causing a violent attack on President Museveni’s motorcade.

“The legilators are among 34 others that abused traffic rules and regulations and violently attacked the motorcade of President Museveni. It happened as the president’s motorcade and the politicians drove in opposite directions”, Emilian Kayima, Police spokesperson stated.

There are unconfirmed reports alleging that the other legislators including Arua Municipality by-election contestant Kasiano Wadri have been transferred to Gulu as voting is underway.

The other people detained are; Micheal Mabike, Night Asarah, Jane Abola, Caroline Nalubowa, Rasul Ismail, Onen Muhammad, Simon Edega, Bashir Ejotre, Nelson Mandela, Sam Draji, Maida Akara, Andama Doka, William Musisi Nyanzi, Juma Amidu, John Bosco Ondogo, Kasim Kyazze, Atiku Shidradan, Noar Butelezi, Asega Jogo, Charles Aniku, Rasul Ondoga, Amidu Galumbe, Wani Aloro, Farouk Abdulrakhim, Bernard Andama, Tom Asiku, Muhammad Ejaga, Gamba Tumusiime, Steven Ojotre, Wilberforce Tamale, Simon Obeti.
